What is Tension Setting?
Tension setting rings are the first offerings by B.Tiff to the market at founding and remains the signature products of B.Tiff. B.Tiff has found tension setting being more favorable than the traditional methods of Prong Setting, Claw Setting, and Cabochon Setting to showcase the brilliance of the stones as it allows view of the stone in its entirety from top to bottom.
About 200 pounds of pressure from the ring band is required to clamp the stones on the sides to suspend the stones at the crown of the rings. The pressure requirement is one of the main reasons that stainless steel is chosen as the base metal since other metal types lack the hardness and rigidity of stainless steel and will loosen up quickly resulting in frequent stone loss.
Suspension of the stones at the ring crowns achieves a floating effect which enables the stones to emit off maximum brilliance and reflect lights from all angles. This in turn gives B.Tiff tension set jewelry such as B.Tiff rings, pendants, and earrings their unique radiance and opulent looks.
To keep the Tension set stones securely in place please refrain from touching the stone and wear with extra care to avoid any impact.
Why does B.Tiff insist on Pavé Setting?
At B.Tiff, no stones are glued. All B.Tiff Jewelry products with stones are set with either tension setting or Pavé Setting to maximize the brilliance of our premium quality stones. B.Tiff insists on pavé settings instead of gluing our stones to not cloud the stones and best showcase the our stones maximum brilliance, our high quality material, our skilled craftsmanship, and our ingenious design concepts.
Pavé Setting is the top method by Fine Jewelers to cover the metal surface with small stones set close together. Its root is a French word "paved" meaning a road surface lined with stones. Pavé settings have long been popular since they add a beautiful dimension of sparkle and texture to the appearance of the jewelry piece.
B.Tiff utilizes the most secure pavé setting method to manually set each stone in small U-shape grooves with individual tiny prongs for each stone. The grooves create an exaggerated wavy appearance from the side view allowing more light to reflect from the diamond and increasing sparkle from all angles. The tiny prongs hold the stone in place adding durability to the overall setting. The level of craftsmanship is critical for the result of pavé settings. Skilled craftsmen produce better lined up and secured stones resulting in neater look and lower risk of the stones coming loose.
Pavé settings are beautiful accompaniments to any center stone and are a lovely design on a ring band all on their own as well as many other type of jewelry pieces such as bracelets, necklaces, pendants, and earrings. This setting offers incredible artistry and versatility and greatly increases the sparkle of every jewelry piece.

Moissanite is regarded as a diamond alternative, with some optical properties exceeding those of diamond. It is marketed as a lower price alternative to diamond. Moissanite has a noticeably more fiery, rainbow-colored light pattern than diamonds do and it also has a higher refractive index, making moissanite more brilliant than diamonds overall. How to care for your B.Tiff jewelry?
To keep your B.Tiff Natural Stainless Steel Jewelry (silver color) at their best, please give them breaks and neatly store the items separately in a cloth pouch in a cool and dry place when not in use. All of our natural stainless steel jewelry will never tarnish due to its fine and durable material and only B.Tiff Jewelry that are made in the Natural stainless steel without plating can be worn in the shower, the pool or the ocean.
Any high polish finish is prone to scratch. Any plating such as Black, Blue, Gold and Rose Gold may eventually have more obvious signs of wear and tear depending on how they are used. Friction, external forces, banging on hard surfaces and objects, chemicals such as make up and perfume, sweat, long exposure to chlorine...etc. are some of the possible causes for damage of plated colors resulting in color change and coming off.
B.Tiff offer One-Time repolishing service for each silver color natural stainless steel product and One-Time re-plating service for each color plated product for a minimal repair service fee. Please refer to our Repair Policy for further details or reaching out at info@btiff.com.

How do I measure my ring size?
All our rings are made with Comfort Fit technology with minute waves lining the inner surface of a ring making it fit a wider size range so that we do not need to offer half sizes. The wider the ring band the narrower the fitting range. Please measure the circumferences of the spot of the finger where you want your ring to sit as well as the adjacent knuckles. The ring has to be able to pass through all the knuckles of the finger.
To measure ring size
- Cut a sliver of paper
- Wrap the paper snug around your finger and the largest knuckle (as in, really nice and tight–don’t be shy!) and mark the spot where it meets
- Measure the distance with a ruler (in mm); that's your finger's circumference
- Find your ring size using the table below
